Eli Verschleisser
General Manager
Eli Verschleisser has served as the General Manager of the
Pomegranate Bistro since its creative inception. Previously,
he was in the Information Technology field for more than 20
years. Mr. Verschleisser brings management and customer
service experience to his role, as well as an interest in
design and food aesthetics. He lives in Silver Spring, MD
with his wife and five children.
Jacob Schorr
Owner
Dr. Jacob Schorr is the Owner of the Pomegranate Bistro. He
envisioned the restaurant as a fine kosher dining experience
located in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.
Richard Tassiello
Executive Chef
Richard Tassiello was formerly Executive Chef with Signature
Catering. Previously, he was a personal chef for a variety
of clients including Dan Snyder, owner of the Redskins.
Before that, Mr. Tassiello served as the Chef de Cuisine at
the Historic Georgetown Club.
Mr. Tassiello comes from a long line of talented cooks and cookbook authors. He fondly recalls memories of his grandmother teaching him to cook authentic European cuisine. Mr. Tassiello's grandmother's best friend was Jewish and taught his family about the laws of kosher cooking. Mr. Tassiello enjoys the challenge of meeting the expectations of the kosher diner's palette by substituting kosher ingredients in order to produce an authentic taste.
